Priorities…

I’ve just been listening to one of my favourite podcasts ‘Ru Paul what's the tee? with Michelle Visage’ (episode 225 to be precise) and this episode was from October 2019. It was probably recorded before then but that was when it first aired. Like everyone else i’m really feeling Ru’s online absence (RU, WHERE ARE YOU???).

Amongst the conversations being had in this episode, Ru and Michelle were talking about how a major event like a war or a famine happening makes, teaches or reminds people about what is really important and how to prioritise. A few months later, we started hearing about a mysterious virus in Wuhan, China called Covid-19 and we all know how that turned out don’t we?

Although it’s far from over still, Covid-19 along with the worldwide lockdown has definitely served as a wake up call to us all about what is really important, how to make do with what we have and not take things for granted. Not just material things like food and luxuries, things like jobs, relationships, friendships, social activities and events have all been affected. Some gone forever, some a shadow of what they used to be. Eventually, some sort of new normal will come into effect and hopefully with it, a new appreciation of what we had, have or will have. All this too will pass somehow and hopefully lessons learnt. Take care peeps and be kind, all we have at the end of the day is ourselves.
